3D Vision technology involves using a computer with a video card of this technology (one of the relatively latest but yet common NVIDIA GeForce cards). Using NVIDIA's 3D vision polarised eyeglasses synchronised with a 120Hz projector, it can display alternating stereoscopic images to the left and right eyes at a 60Hz rate each, which enables smooth looking transitions.
The images comes directly from the computer's GPU, using the information used for the basic "flat" 3D rendering, which means that it works for games that were not necessarily intended to be played in stereoscopic 3D. Thus, it is possible to enjoy hundreds of video games in 3D.
I was able to attend a demonstration of a 3D projection with the X1261 which was connected to an Acer Predator computer (last generation) with Nvidia's 3D Vision
